March 19, 2011 is a day for action.
This year, on the eighth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, make your voice heard in the halls of Congress at the Peace Action Spring Lobby Weekend.
Spring Lobby Weekend
March 19-22, 2011
Join Peace Action for a weekend of action, training, and lobbying in Washington, DC.
Our lobby weekend will focus on the ending the war in Afghanistan and cutting the overwhelming military budget.
In the midst of a devastated economy, our elected officials have it backwards. Congress and the Obama Administration continue to deploy troops and contractors to Afghanistan and Iraq at a cost of billions, meanwhile neglecting urgent needs at home - even to the point of proposing a five-year freeze domestic discretionary spending.
Clearly, we need new priorities! Join us in Washington, March 19-22.
Raise your voice to the decision-makers themselves. Visit our Spring Lobby Weekend web page for more information and to register.
Humbly for Peace,
Kevin M. Martin
