Thank you for signing our petition to President Obama calling for a responsible end to the war in Afghanistan. Now, it's time to take the next step: Congress. In December 2009, President Obama announced that the U.S. would begin withdrawing troops from Afghanistan by July 2011.

We haven't forgotten, and neither should Congress. Let's hold the President to his word!

Additionally, Rep. Barbara Lee is circulating a letter to her fellow members of Congress calling on the President to keep his word: implement a "significant and sizable" withdrawal of U.S. troops beginning in July. Urge your member to sign on by March 16th.
