Dear Supporter,

As more and more media attention turns toward bringing our troops home from Afghanistan, it's nearing decision time inside the beltway.

For the past two months, we have contiuously applied pressure on Congress and the President to make the right decision: bring the troops home! Today, we need your help to send that message to the Senate.

Call your two Senators at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to sign on to the Merkley-Lee-Udall letter to bring the troops home from Afghanistan.

This line is staffed 24 hours and with many offices you can leave messages or leave a message at a state office. State office numbers can be found at: http://www.congress.org

While Peace Action wants to see all troops and contractors out of Afghanistan within one year and we don't agree with every word of this bipartisan Senate letter, the main message is politically important: urging President Obama for a "sizeable and sustained" reduction in forces from Afghanistan beginning in July.

Peace Action has been working hard to get the current 18 Senators onboard. It is our understanding that Senators have until the close of business on Tuesday to sign on.

We need your help as the President will decide how many troops to bring home soon. Call your two Senators at (202) 224-3121.

When you call you may want to say: "Would Senator XXXXXX please sign the Merkley-Lee-Udall letter to bring the troops home from Afghanistan." If a Senator has already signed please thank her or him.

Call (202) 224-3121 and help to close the book on the war in Afghanistan.

Humbly for Peace,

Kevin Martin
