I’m writing to wish you the very best. I’m hoping you have some time off and you’re using it to do the things you love.

I also want to thank you for your activism, so important in these times we live in.  It’s hard, I think, living in a world of instant messaging, instant gratification, to possess the patience and insight required to be engaged knowing there will be no instant result.  In fact, it’s often very hard to see the impact we are making on events.  How special then are you for knowing that no action we take is too small – no action is insignificant.

Working to make this world a better place is a choice you have made and I have made that choice too.  Perhaps it’s a tie that binds us to those who have come before, who never lost hope in spite of the odds and handed the torch of peacemaker and ‘drum major’ for justice to our generation of activists.

So again, I wish you the very best during this season of peace.  May 2013 be a very good year for you and all those you love.
