Nov. 16 Planning Board Public Hearing to Feature Plans for Future Saugerties Riverfront Preserve
Dear Scenic Hudson Member,
As you may have heard, Scenic Hudson is working with the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill on the planning and creation of a new riverfront preserve on 192 acres just south of Saugerties. In conjunction with Scenic Hudson's recently acquired conservation restriction on the property, the Sisters have agreed to allow public access on portions of this stunningly diverse landscape that includes over one mile of spectacular Hudson Riverfront.
Scenic Hudson park planners have partnered with the Sisters and the Esopus Creek Conservancy to develop a plan that will improve and expand an existing riverside trail system while protecting the Sisters' privacy. When improvements are completed next spring, people in northern Ulster County will have a new place to enjoy the magnificent beauty of the Hudson River. (In the meantime, the property remains closed to public).
The public is invited to review the plan and ask questions on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Saugerties Planning Board public hearing at the Frank Greco Memorial Senior Center at the corner of Market and Robinson streets in Saugerties.
If you have questions or would like additional information, contact Scenic Hudson Park Planner Kate Kane at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope to see you there!
