Montgomery County proposing to ELIMINATE bikeway maintenance ENTIRELY this year!

In his proposed FY 2010 "Savings Plan", Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is proposing to eliminate 100% bikeway maintenance funds as a cost savings measure.  This cut will be presented to the County Council's Transportation and Environment Committee this Tuesday, November 10th.  We need the help of county cyclists today to help protect these vital funds.

While times are tight in Montgomery County, cutting the entire bikeway maintenance budget could present safety hazards for cyclists as sweeping, trimming and snow removal along trails will be eliminated.
