Dear Supporter,

Thanks for receiving our bi-weekly Volunteer Hub. Please take a moment to look over the complete list of events and sign up for something - even if it has been a while. For a complete list of volunteer opportunities, we keep an up-to-date calendar on the WABA website at http://www.waba.org/get_involved/volunteer.php

Don't forget - volunteer three times with WABA and earn a free one year memberships!

Volunteer Night!
May 18th, 2011

Have you thought about volunteering with WABA but never really got around to doing it? Now is your chance! Typically held on the 1st and 3rd wednesday of each month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, we invite everyone and anyone to come by the WABA office and help stuff membership packets, and brainstorm future volunteer efforts.

WABA volunteer nights are a fun way to get to know other cyclists in the DC area and a simple way to help advocate for better bicycling. Do you have a list of ideas for volunteer opportunities you would like to see us offer? Do you want to play a larger role in helping WABA's advocacy efforts? Now is your chance.

Register for Volunteer Night

Bike MS, a 2-day cycling event in northern Virginia, will host nearly 1,000 cyclists on June 11 & 12 to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We're in need of volunteers of all kinds: event set-up and break-down, rest stop hosts, cheerleaders/fans, registration/check-in, photographers/videographers, event logistics and more. So You Want to be a DC Bike Ambassador?
No Date Schedule

We're actively recruiting volunteer Bike Ambassadors (BAs) to represent WABA and put a smiling face on bicycling. And the next DC Bike Ambassador volunteer orientation is coming up. We're looking for enthusiastic and engaged cyclists who are interested in joining the volunteer Ambassadors in spreading the word about bicycling!

The Ambassador orientation is the first step in becoming a volunteer Ambassador. It's basically a chance for Daniel, our Bike Ambassador coordinator to meet all the volunteers face-to-face and to lay out the BA program. If you're interested in coming to the next orientation meeting, please email him at dcba@waba.org to RSVP.

After your orientation, you'll be asked to sign up for one of our Confident City Cycling classes and to commit to helping out at a real live BA event.

Sign-up by emailing: dcba@waba.org
