DC Council Chair Kwame Brown is planning to strip Councilmember Tommy Wells of his chairmanship of the Committee on Public Works and Transportation.
Regardless the motivation behind this change, it is likely a step in the wrong direction for bicyclists. WABA has been working with Councilmember Wells on a number of important initiatives to improve transportation infrastructure and to protect cyclists, and his removal would be a significant setback.
