Dear Supporter,
Last week you received our Event Hub email and as you could probably tell, we are extremely busy this fall! We have an ambitious and action-packed season of bicycling ahead of us -- and we need cyclists like you to come out and help!
As an Event Hub subscriber, you know that WABA puts a lot of time and energy into bringing you as many bike and bike-related events as we can cram into one little biweekly email. You also know that as dedicated as we are, WABA could not do all that we do without the help of local cyclist volunteers. Well, now is your chance to get on board and join the effort: volunteer with WABA!
Listed below are upcoming volunteer opportunities to get involved wth WABA. We have also included a link to a sign-up page to receive our Volunteer Hub emails on a more regular basis (1-2 per month). Finally, you can bookmark our volunteer calendar on the WABA website at http://www.waba.org/get_involved/volunteer.php
Volunteer three times with WABA and earn a free one-year membership!

WABA's Volunteer Night!
September 21st, 2011
Have you thought about volunteering with WABA but never really got around to doing it? Now is your chance! Typically held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, we invite everyone and anyone to come by the WABA office and help stuff membership packets, and brainstorm future volunteer efforts.
WABA volunteer nights are a fun way to get to know other cyclists in the DC area and a simple way to help advocate for better bicycling. Do you have ideas for volunteer opportunities you would like to see us offer? Do you want to play a larger role in helping WABA's advocacy efforts? This is your chance.

So You Want to be a DC Bike Ambassador?
Thursday, September 15th, 6pm
WABA Office
We're actively recruiting volunteer Bike Ambassadors (BAs) to represent WABA and put a smiling face on bicycling. And the next DC Bike Ambassador volunteer orientation is coming up. We're looking for enthusiastic and engaged cyclists who are interested in joining the volunteer Ambassadors in spreading the word about bicycling!
The Ambassador orientation is the first step in becoming a volunteer Ambassador. It's basically a chance for Daniel, our Bike Ambassador coordinator to meet all the volunteers face-to-face and to lay out the BA program. If you're interested in coming to the next orientation meeting, please email him at dcba@waba.org to RSVP.
Sign-up by emailing: dcba@waba.org
