Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) Monthly Meeting
Monday October 17th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

We welcome all who are interested in promoting cycling and walking in Alexandria.

Where: Durant Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314
Agenda includes:  "Got Lights?" campaign, Update on bicycle and pedestrian counts, 2012 Earth Day plans, Community bicycle rides, Bicycle-Friendly Community project, Bicycle Friendly Business project, Capital Bikeshare, and much, much more.

 


Volunteer Help Needed to Install Bike Lights
Thursday, October 20th 5:15pm - 6:30pm

In an effort to help make sure bicyclists are safely visible to motorists and others as we get closer to daylight savings time, the City of Alexandria, in partnership with the Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, will be providing and installing bike lights at its annual "Got Lights?" event. Volunteers are needed to help install lights on bicycles and to hand out bike maps and bicycling guides to riders. Installing lights is easy! If you can work a screwdriver, you can install these lights.

Volunteers should arrive at 5:15pm at their chosen site.

1) Mount Vernon Trail at Canal Center Place
2) Four Mile Run Park Trail at Commonwealth Avenue

Saturday October 22, 10 am - 1 pm

St Elmo's Coffee Pub
2300 Mt Vernon Ave, 22301(gather outside)
Bring yourself, a bicycle, a helmet, water, a sense of adventure
No cost, but limited to 30 riders
