Dear Supporter,

On June 12, award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa did a piece for NOW on PBS called "Abortion Providers Under Siege," examining the roots of the murder of Dr. George Tiller. Anti-choice forces are organizing against PBS for airing this important piece and pressuring the network. This kind of collective action against a media company can have a chilling effect on the kinds of stories it chooses to air.

Please watch this important piece and click here to send a letter to producers at NOW on PBS.

In "Abortion Providers Under Siege," Hinojosa profiles two abortion providers, telling the story of how they live daily under the threat of extreme violence. Her piece asked the question - "Is anti-abortion violence domestic terrorism?" - while vividly illustrating how the anti-choice movement uses intimidation, violence and other kinds of pressure to reduce the number of providers as part of an overall effective political strategy.

Hinojosa also examines the role of right wing media within the anti-choice movement, showing numerous clips of Bill O'Reilly mentioning Tiller on air and calling him a "killer." Turning a critical eye toward anti-choice websites, she shows how they invite action by displaying photos of abortion providers, providing home addresses, aerial photos of clinics and maps of security cameras at the clinics.

Maria Hinojosa's piece is an invaluable contribution to the national conversation about the murder of Dr. Tiller. Thank you, as always, for your support.

Warmly,

Carol Jenkins
